Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

    When available, the URLs to access references online are provided, including those for open access versions of the reference. The URLs are ready to click (e.g., http://pkp.sfu.ca).
    The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
    The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
    If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.

Author Guidelines

JGBC accepts and publishes original articles written by undergraduate students. Submissions are assessed using the following evaluation criteria:

  • Following JGBC Submission Guidelines
  • Writing clarity
  • How meaningful the article is
  • The timeliness of the topic

Submissions should be in the English language. The author’s name and affiliation should appear on the title page only in order to maintain anonymity during the review process. The title page should contain the following elements:

  1. Title of the article;
  2. Author’s name, Major and college/university
  3. Email address and/or URL
  4. Other contact information (email and phone addresses)

Generally we can accept articles that are any length and pretty much any format. References should use the format of one of the following:

  1. American Psychological Association, available at This link
  2. Modern Language Association, available at This link
  3. Academy of Management, available at This link

Registration for the website is necessary for submission of manuscripts. Authors can expect to receive feedback on submissions within 60 days during the academic year period. If 60 days have gone by, authors are encouraged to contact the editor.
